Maleficent

So, I went to see Maleficent yesterday and I was impressed! It lived up to my expectations.  I’m not a huge Angie fan but I must say she was incredible! Outstanding performance and totally perfect for the character! I did however have two criticisms, the first was that it should have been a Burton.  I heard he was to be making it and I do think it would have added an extra gothic edge but I do understand why Disney went a different route, I think the film would have been too dark for Disney if it had a Burton twist.  I think that Burton would have turned down the airy-fairy sweetness of it all but I suppose it did still have to fit with the Disney fairytale type.  My other criticism is of the casting of Aurora, while Elle did a god job, to me, Aurora seemed to be the most beautiful, intellectual girl in her kingdom and I felt that she was just too goofy in the part.  But I guess this again was to lighten the film for a younger audience.  I did however, enjoy the odd moments  of light comedy and the visual styling of the film.  The contrast between the two kingdoms was highlighted well in the visual effects and it was a very effective method of communicating the differences in the communities.  All in all, an enjoyable film which I will watch again!

okay so basically I was getting really close to a guy I’ve known for years, he’s always had feelings for me, or at least claimed to, and we finally (after 5 years) kissed at the weekend, two days later he’s in a relationship… Not entirely sure how I feel about the guy but like c’mon, dick move or drama queen?

alcohol

Usually I do not drink based on the medication I take, but last night I decided to go out to a club and I had a couple of drinks.  As the most sober of the group I could see the different effects of alcohol.  There's the angry, 'I will punch anyone' drunk.  The 'you're so pretty won't you sleep with me' drunk, the 'why does no one love me' drunk, the 'i'm just gonna have fun' drunk and then a few minor variations.  The only one that is good to be around is the 'fun' drunk, all others just make people irritating, dangerous and unpredictable.

Scandalous Politics

I have recently had to go gluten free to try and solve the problem I've been having with migraines.  I went to Tesco to buy a selection of gluten free food that I could actually eat and it occurred to me that the food is so much more expensive than regular food.  Gluten is very unhealthy but is present in most food.  To me, it seems that if Gluten free food was cheaper, more people could afford to eat it.  This could lead to a more healthy future generation and could reduce the strain on the NHS.  Is it just me or does that not make sense?
Surely if the government reduced the price of healthy food of all kinds, more people would be encouraged to eat healthy and therefore be healthy, reducing the obesity issue in the UK and reducing the issues with the NHS, therefore making it more successful, seems like it would be a positive knock-on effect.
Just my thoughts!

The most uplifting video I've seen!

Okay so I stumbled upon this on Facebook a couple of weeks ago and it is one of the most inspiring videos i've seen. I have no idea how she does it but this girl has managed to remain positive about life, her condition and her appearance in this world that is filled with negativity and hate. This could make anyone realise how lucky they have it!!
